Wow.... truly astounding on several levels....  These pale by comparison.
Released by the European Central Bank to familiarise people with the new euro.

Interesting thread. Here's one from my collection. This a silk proof from the KHANATE OF KHIVA.  This was to be used for the 250 Ruble silk note, and was to be dated 1338 AH/1919 AD. Being used to test the inks and silk cloth, only the outline of note is presented.
