Title: 1893 Columbian Worlds Exposition Chicago
Post by: coinsarefun on October 20, 2013, 11:15:02 PM
I have had the Match Safe for years but was able to add the double change purse, leather/ silver plate
I like it very much as it goes well with the match safe. So I decided to take some pics and make this display........hope you enjoy.

That is a beautiful display, so totally cool, I love it even more than your Pan-Pac Coca-Cola replica! The Ferris Wheel depicted thereon was a Big Deal, literally, a way for the Chicago exposition to display something that they thought would equal Paris' Eiffel Tower. It was designed by George Washington Gale Ferris, hence "Ferris' Wheel." You can read all about it here:

The Ferris Wheel is also depicted on some of the So-Called Dollars, HK-170-173.

Best Regards,  :)
