Cinderellas: Fantasies, Test Notes, and Relateds

Money that never was and never will be...  The broad range includes "banknotes" created by enthusiasts of design, as well as the test notes required by the manufacturers of ATMs, counters, and other machinery of banking.

We designate a substantial portion of our revenues to be awarded to groups seeking funding for projects in Antarctica. We have donated money to the Students on Ice Program to send high school students to Antarctica via Argentina and will probably continue to make grants to this program. We makes grants as far as tax deductions allow us and are working on expanding our revenue base with other similar items to increase revenues further and attain our goals faster.

That is the same crowd that has done notes for the Kerguelen Islands as well.

This was one pf a series that is (was?) created for Canadian Coin Month.  The microprinting on the back is a list of all the CNA member clubs.  Nice printing; quality paper; watermark and foil stamp for security.

David,
  Those are very nice notes.

These are actually in circulation as a proper community currency, which means that they are proper numismatic items not exonumia.

Totally awesome thread. I love some of the specimens listed. I don't know if this would count, but here is a specimen of mine. This is a proof for a 250 Ruble silk note from the KHANATE OF KHIVA.  It was to be dated 1338 AH/1919 AD.  Again, I don't know if this is what your looking for, but I hope you guys like it none the less.

Test notes from NGZ Cash Systems (their website here - English flag at the bottom.)  These notes are used for testing ATMs, counting and packing equipment.

This enigmatic test note was printed by Komori Machinery Ltd of Sussex, the company is a Japanese company that is the fourth largest manufacturer of printing equipment in the world. While this note would suggest English neo-classicism in it's design, the serial numbers suggest that the note was created for a potential customer in India - given the style of the numerals in the serial. At any rate, it is an elusive and attractive note.

Sometime in the late 1970's or very early 1980's Komori Machinery Printing Co., Ltd of Japan printed a unique test note for distribution to potential printing contracts.

For a subject they elected to depict Princess Grace of Monaco, aka Grace Kelly. She was in my opinion one of the loveliest Hollywood actresses ever, and at the pinnacle of her film career she met and married a real Prince, Prince Rainier of Monaco. She thus gave up all the Hollywood fame and traded it for the responsibility of being a real Princess, wife and mother. Tragically this lovely Princess's life was cut short in an automobile accident in the French Riviera in 1982. The reverse has a vignette of the Grimaldi family palace in Monte Carlo.
