Here's one that was just so oddly toned that I couldn't pass on it (plus, for $3 I figured I could risk it;))
Post your negatively toned coins here, assuming I'm not the only one who finds toning fascinating. ;)
I mean, you can't even tell what kind of coin this is unless you see both sides! ???

Can't complain about 3 bucks. That is some crazy toning :D
I don't think I have anything like that

Now that is wild. I've never seen toning like that.

I win the booby prize then? :D
It sure is a strange looking coin, but there is luster underneath.

I bet NCS would love to have a go with that coin.

I am curious as to what's under there. I'd be afraid to try to do anything to it myself.

Come on now, just polish it out and it will look good as new. ;)

I bet even a polishing would help this one. ;)

I don't know, that's a pretty good-looking Canadian dollar. The obverse is sweet! The reverse is nice too, the toning looks typical of what I've seen of that type. Did it come from one of those mint velvet holders? I think that's what gives them their unique look.

No idea how it was stored, William. I received it from an ebay seller in a large flip.
