Thomas Paine: "British by birth, American by adoption, French by decree."

Wow, Stefanie, these make a great pair, and in high grade.  Very nice.  : )

I read a bit about Thomas Paine this evening.   )

I enjoyed the quote from a plaque in Diss, France, that reads,
"British by birth, American by adoption, French by decree."

I read that only six attended Thomas Paine's funeral.
I'm thinking if we'd been around, there might have been eight.  ; )

I have collected U.S coins for many years, and then Civil War Tokens, but am now actively building a collection of Conder Tokens,
the coins that made the Industrial Revolution a whopping success. : )

Stefanie,
Those 'Hangman' themed traders' currency tokens are amazing, but they aren't common at all.

Have you downloaded http://www.photoscape.org to help you?

Sounds as if money was somewhat "Paine full" in those parts of England.
