Warwickshire, Birmingham DH 50, Uncirculated
« on: December 15, 2009, 02:08:25 AM »

This is Warwickshire, Birmingham DH 50, a Conder Token in Uncirculated condition.

I am trying to figure out what the screw-like device is.  Perhaps it was a device for taking core samples???

I have seen this obverse described only as 'partially clothed boy with tools.'  Somebody must know.  : )

I have collected U.S coins for many years, and then Civil War Tokens, but am now actively building a collection of Conder Tokens,
the coins that made the Industrial Revolution a whopping success. : )

Nice Conder. The device looks like a medieval screw-type coin press to me.

Thanks for that information, RHM22.  : )

I think the hedgehogs look a bit like 'possums.  ; )

They do look like 'possums! They also remind me of boot wipers for some reason.

Larry,
That's a very nice coin that you've got there.
