This is a commemorative 2Taler from Saxony, Germany. It is one of my favorite designs. It is graded PCGS MS62.

Mintage : 49,000
Size : 40mm

Beautiful specimen. I love the frosted tone of the surface. It looks  it was made of ice. The design is incredible especially with the king and queens profiles. One question, what did you do to get the reflected image at the bottom of the photo? I'd like to try this with one of  coins sometime.

I just love that obverse, what a great design!

To me it is the best German commemorative 2Taler design from the late 1800's. Coinage design was so plain looking during that period. This 2Taler is the eye candy piece from the late 19th century German coinage. IMO

I thought you would like the toning on it. I have spent many hours looking at your collection on this site. Do to your collection and your outstanding eye for finding PQ toned coins. You've taught me what to look for.
