Here's a 3 Ringgit postal order from Sarawak.
It is the first numismatic item that I have scanned since upgrading to Windows 7 & Internet Explorer 9 from Windows XP & Internet Explorer 8.
Please let me know what you think.

These scans are very nice, Aidan, though I personally have little interest in the item itself.
Perhaps your coin images will be better. Your currency scans seemed good before , too, but your coin images suffered.
I would suggest finding thin film, like a glassine envelope and use one thickness/layer only, to protect your scanners glass.
Coins are abrasive to scanner glass and the glass is not good foe coins either.
Rotating a coin on a scanner glass can cause wear, in the form of polished areas on high points.

Larry,
I have no idea where to get glassine from,as I think no-one over here in New Zealand sells it anymore.
If they did,it would be quite expensive.
My banknote & postal order photos are O.K..
I know about my coin photos being not so good.
You're right about wanting to protect the scanner's glass plate.
