  • How you say something is as important as what you are trying to convey.

    He should have come up with at least one more rule that would have given the forum there 10 Commandments reflecting his leadership style more appropriately.

  • I was a member up on Collectors' Universe for a short period before the administrators,especially Carolj,had decided from day 1 that they were out to get me banned off there.

    If that forum becomes one for only members who pay the T.P.G.,then there'd be a lot of people who would vote with their feet & hands,& cease posting.

    I wouldn't be too surprised if their reputation ends up like both FleeceBay & PayPal - in the sewer!

  • Well, it looks like at least 4-5 member have been handed their walking papers.
    I wonder how many will either leave on their own or be banned :HMMMMM;

  • Stefanie,
      Do you know which ones they are? If you do,you should invite them to join up here.

  • I agree with most that has been posted here. I would be suprised if anytime soon the CU forum would go to pay to play.  Its seems they are putting their foot down at a time that confuses someone like me who has been hanging around the CU for a little over a year. I have heard some rumors but...
    The CU members are still posting threads that are suppose to be a bamming offense. Sure its a kinder-gentler forum (for now) a few have been tossed and some disparaged. That place has always had its "mood".   Truthfully for me, I collect mostly tokens, I belonged to PCGS for a year, never submitted a thing and could never find the pop reports on my tokens  ;)  If they chose to have exclusive members with sticks up their arses, so be it. Boring!

  • I have heard that some people commited "suicide by moderator" but I can't figure out who it is. When you post on as many message boards as I do daily, it gets hard to remember who is who on each one, and I've not been able to place who is missing.  But I will probably slap my own face and say duh when I either find out or realize it...like in cartoons :)

  • I see two problems with PCGS and neither will change and either is sufficient to kill the boards eventually.  ...so it goes.

    Actually they could change and I remain hopeful or I'd cut back posting on the site.

    They don't see much value to their brand by hosting the most active boards and they won't spend the effort moderating it that it requires.  Yes, the  moderators do a superb job but there is a strong tendency to let fires smoulder and even flare up and spread out of control.  Then they come in and blow the place to pieces to put the fire out.

    I can only imagine the grief the place might cause them sometimes so I guess they don't take it entirely for granted or it would have been gone long ago.

  • I think that Collectors' Universe should be left to sink.

    Let them stew in their own mess.
