While I do collect coins costing in the 4 digits, my favoriye collection is a set of Lincoln Pennies from
1941 to 1980. They are all matched color a pleasing brown in AU-58 or better condition. These coins are
raw and the entire set is probably not worth 5 dollars, but it took me several years of hard work to match
the grade and color of the coins. I did have to buy the three steel pennies in BU, but that was it.

I think this goes a long way to dispel the notion that an inexpensive set is easy to put together, or that you
can't have as much fun with inexpensive coins as with their more expensive brothers and sisters. I have also f
found that Barber coins in nice F - VF condition, with even wear, no major distracting marks and the nice tone developed over many years, are beautiful to look at and not too expensive. Other then bragging rights, collecting coins of any value is a most pleasant and instructive hobby.I seem to enjoy seeing someones
coin in nice condition whether it is worth a dollar or 100,000 dollars. The important thing is to have a good
time with our hobby.

Thanks for the link, I didn't know about this site.  That's a very nice and well-matched set of Roosevelt dimes, Stefanie. :)  I had no idea that you had done a set of them.
