  • 16th to 18th century coinage from Malta is very hard to find in grades above v.f. Very fine grades seem to be very common, and extra fine grades not as much. To find in AU or better, is very hard. Most of the high grade 1500's and 1700's coinage sit in the collections of high end collectors. I was very lucky to find this piece in this grade. The year 1798 was not a good year for the Grand Mastor of the Kinghts. Napoleon invaded Malta in 1798 and put an end the Knights on Malta. The Knights had ruled Malta from 1530 to 1798. The 30 Tari coins were minted during the Franch occupation.

Grand Master : Ferdinand Hompesch 1797-1798
Mint : Malta during Franch occupation.
Mint Master : unknown ( Still looking into this for info. )
    Mint Official : unknown
    Mint engraver : unknown

  • Awesome coin 'Regandon'. Such sharp details. The arms looks cool with twin-headed eagle holding the crosses in their beaks. Quite a unique design. Thanks for sharing.
