Title: 1904 St Louis Worls Fair tokens
Post by: rons on January 07, 2010, 08:25:44 PM
Any help with prices for 5 tokens from this fair are greatly appreciated. I am bidding blindly on an online auction and don't want to be too stupid and bury myself.  Thanks  Ron

Stefanie, Thank you for posting the images. I was really intrigued with these tokens but got sniped at the last second. What a disappointment for me :( On a more positive note I discovered this site and hope to be a contributor in the future so not all is lost ;D I look forward to being a positive contributor in the future. Now, if I can only figure out the mechanics of posting pictures it will be even better:)

To bad on the auction :( :(

As far as posting images here you can open a free gallery page here of your own
http://coinsarefun.com/forum/index.php?action=mgallery;sa=vua (http://coinsarefun.com/forum/index.php?action=mgallery;sa=vua)
you can upload an unlimited amount of images, similar to photobucket.

Or if you prefer, in your post there is an "upload image" button inside your post or reply area.

And a 3rd way is to use a link, say you already have photobucket.
Inside the post area you will see a picture of an image button.

Actually I collect award medals from the 1904 Louisiana Expo, these were designed by Adolph Weinman who would go on to design the Walking Liberty half, and this medal was minted by the Philadelphia mint:

This is one curiously I bought from a seller in Britain of all places, but when it comes with the original box and paperwork - unlike the vast majority of them, you cannot turn it down.
