  • Greetings.

Are there any Capped Bust Half Variety collectors here?  If so, put up an image of some of your interesting varieties.  I find my 1810 O-101a  PCGS XF45 my most interesting. The die cracks are amazing to me, along with the blueish toning.. what character

    Hi Will,

    Nice bust half!

I absolutely love capped bust halves.  In my opinion they are the most beautiful silver pieces in the entire catalog of American coinage.  A gorgeous obverse and a spectacular eagle on the reverse...and like you said, all of the neat die states that add to the fun.   I collected them for a brief period but unfortunately my eyes were always bigger than my wallet with that series; I seemed to only really want the early dates with excellent full strikes in the very choice high-AU - UNC range.  But I still love them.

Here's one that I owned a good while back.  O-109a (R-4)  It was an EF, had a great strike and nice color. I was very fond of it.
