My first edgeview slab (coin included)
« on: February 03, 2010, 12:15:12 PM »
Well, this is the first time I've owned an edgeview slab....Yuuuch!!  I'm thinking I should crack it, just to get a decent picture of it.  I would probably regret it when the time comes to sell, but geez!  I'm not impressed.  The coin is an NGC au58, and I wonder if resale would be affected much if I were to pop it outta there. :HMMMMM;

Oh, and are the "D"s usually filled on these?  Just curious....

I believe the filled mintmark to be common on that year.

Thanks for the info.   :)

I will probably hold off on cracking it out, but if I ever get another ANACS submission together, it'll go along with them.

(Don't hate me for using ANACS, I had them do jetons, an SCD, stuff that the other TPG's wouldn't touch ;))

I also bought my first edgeview, and I concur, I hate the slab.  Problem is I want the coin out, but again it is gold and rare and I don't want to mess it up.  Mine has four prongs instead of three though.

There are some coins that just don't look good in them, and this happens to be of them. It is my understanding that when you submit your coins, you can request a slab other than the edge view.
