Is anyone following the Scotsman Winter Sale?
« on: February 03, 2010, 06:34:21 AM »
There is a lilttle bit of everything in it, including some large lots of "unopened" proof sets. The Missouri, New Rochelle and Texas commems look nice as well as the quartet of 1947 Walkers (my birth year). As for Morgans, I wouldn't mind having the 80-CC & 81-CC Rainbows.

If anyone plans to bid on any of this, let me know so we don't have to knock heads.

Is it over?
I didn't know about it. although I wasn't planning on bidding on anything , it
would be cool to watch if they have live bidding :)

They close the online bidding before the live auction ends.

Stef, the online bidding ends on Friday, February 12 at 4:30pm Central time. Live bidding begins at 6:00pm on Friday, February 12 Central time. You can view the auction lots at  scoins.com  but you must register first. Scotsman conducts just two auctions per year, the Winter Sale and the Fall Sale. You can request their catalog for future auctions after you register.

I have the catalog, so if there are any particular categories of interest to you, let me know and I can give you the specific group(s) of Lot #'s.

Just checked it out, A few of those unopened proof sets sure are tempting :)
Hmmm, just think of the errors or deep cam's that may be in there Happy(*)

Yeah, I was interested in Lot #38 - 162 Unopened Proof Sets - 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963 & 1964 - I bid $2199 and was quickly shot down.
