My latest Newp! 1795 Flowing Hair Dollar 2 Leaves!
« on: July 05, 2011, 10:02:14 PM »
This one will be a permanant fixture in my collection. I saw this coin at the local Parsippany show and balked at the price. Shortly after, it was sold to Heritage.

When speaking to a friend of mine, he told me John Albanese saw the coin, and said the asking price was fair as this variety is undervalued. John spoke to Heritage on my behalf, and the coin became mine. A big thanks goes out to Michael Berkman of Heritage, John Albanese, Yosef Baker and Jim Polonsky who all played key roles in making this transaction happen. Dinner on me next time guys!

The holder is VERY scratched up, and plastx didn't help much. I plan to cross her over to PCGS eventually, but no hurry. There is a bit of a weak strike on the reverse. Very nice original pearl grey surfaces. Eventually this coin will belong to my daughter :)

And here is my other example which matches up in originality quite well in my opinion:

Thanks for looking! :)
