At my house, you have to take a vacation when the opportunity arises. Since school here will be starting back on Monday, this was probably our last chance to get away for a couple of days. Here are a few pictures from the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Being New Years, most places were bound to be closed for the holidays, but we found a few interesting stops while we were there. Just thought I'd share. :)

It looks like you had a great time and even though I went to Monterrey, San Fransisco, The California Redwoods and Sacramento..................I'm still jealous :)

The morning that we were leaving, there was a light dusting of snow. I really didn't expect to see snow at the beach, but it was a pleasant surprise. Being from PA originally, I don't see much snow any more and get I sometimes to missing it.

I sure would like to see the lighthouses there sometime, they are a lot taller and usually older than the ones I am used to seeing on the Great Lakes.
I would like to see California this summer, hopefully a high school reunion is in the works.

There are four lighthouses at the Outer Banks that I know of, but the time we had was limited so we couldn't see them all. We saw two, but the tours were closed at the time so we couldn't go inside. They are quite impressive though when seen in person.

The sights all look very interesting, but vacations are more than just what you see, sight, sound, smell and taste are all so important.
So where did you eat and how was the food?
There are places that we have returned to for not only the sights but the eateries.
