  • I am bringing my my Kennedy set it to the Long Beach show to see if they will grade it.
I have not messed around with the color in anyway and think they are beautiful.
Hopefully PCGS will slab them because I want them to image the set ;)

Here is the holders in sat in all this time

  • Iffy with the current 1692 atomosphere regarding toning at the TPGs. The 87 has probably the lowest chance of holdering.

What do the reverses look like?

I turned the 87 into the light to show more of the toning.
The reverse are mostly white with a few having a small rim toning.

Very interesting side note.......A member (the one who works in the ANA museum)ATS stated that
they have the exact set with the same toning ;)
    Now, isn't NGC tied in somehow with the ANA :HMMMMM;

Yes, NGC is the offical TPG of ANA. If you are an ANA member you may submit coins to NGC without having to join their collectors club or dealer program.

  • "Elite" membership at NGC costs $249 per year; "Premier" membership costs $109 per year; "Associate" membership costs $39 per year.

Associate: Direct submission privileges; access to the NGC Census; submissioin tracking

Premier: All of the above plus 5 free Early Bird gradings ($150 value)

Elite: Same as Premier plus 10% discount on all other submissions.

As an ANA member, you don't have any of these privileges.

I didn't renew my PCGS membership when they discontinued the RCMR. I'm only an hour south of NGC's headquarters.

  • I'd consider NGC except to those durned claw-like holder tabs. :(

As for the OP, I don't have much trust left in PCGS for NT/AT opinion as they seem to have changed (or tightened) standards.  If there were more consistency, then I would have more respect for the service provided. This opinion is based on reading of the experiences of others, not my personal experience. I know, that doesn't help much, but I have become suspicious of the TPG's motivations of late.

I guess that my simple answer is that I would expect them to judge them conservatively.

It's my understanding that you can request another style holder instead of the "Edge View". If you have any questions, call them..........1-800-642-2646.

  • Well, I met with Mr. Willis and he said to submit but no promises.....HA, like I didn't
know that. He stated that the coins looked "wiped" well....I beg to differ!!!
They do not look nor were they "wiped" its just streaky toning.

    So I took a chance and submitted 17 of them ??? ???
