How are you investing or saving for your retirement?
« on: February 28, 2010, 11:27:04 AM »
Other than certain coins that I have been collecting, high end graded and or rare.
I have some silver and gold bullion, but nothing really much to make a difference.

I have decided to start looking into ROTH IRA's and other types of investments.
I don't really have faith in stocks. And for those who are self employed.......what's the best way
to start planning or saving for retirement?

I have read many magazines and done much searching online and frankly don't like much of what
I have read :0

So, I would like to hear from you........what are you doing for retirement planning :HMMMMM;

Very good question.  I am self-employed and there isn't much room for saving while raising three kids.  Plus, I really don't figure on being around that long. ;)  We have a 401k and decent retirement benefits with the Mrs.' job, but not much beyond that.  Sad thought, really....

Yes, it has become one of the most foremost concerns this past year or so.

I have one rental property in which I am upside down on and hoping that Southern Cali.
makes a rebound in the next few years so I will be at least where I was 2 yrs ago :0

So I am interested in what others have to say

We gave the rental property thing some thought a few years ago, before the market turned.  I'm kind of glad we didn't act on it now.  I know of someone who did that same deal and has sold back all of their holdings.  It just seems to volatile right now to even predict what type of investment will be safe.  I have little faith in the market and sure wouldn't want to risk my future there right now.

Maybe I'll go and buy a lottery ticket. ;D

I'm not doing anything. I might die tomorrow, and there is nobody in my (ex)family who deserves to get anything. I'll see to it that my friends get whatever I don't spend enjoying myself.

I am spending it before the kids can get their hands on it.
