This particular Merchant token is notorious for a weak strike, sometimes the center words are very faint.
This one is pretty well struck. It is supposed to be struck in brass and white metal but in hand this one really
looks like it may be a copper planchet. I may have to look into it further.

Sure looks like copper from the pics. Heck, it doesn't look like it could get any more red! Have you been able to trace any other copper examples?

Sure looks like copper from the pics. Heck, it doesn't look like it could get any more red! Have you been able to trace any other copper examples?
There are non in copper, only brass and white metal.

That's a very nice coin that you have got there.
Is it the same size as the small 1 Cent coin?
It most definitely looks like it is either on a copper or a bronze planchet.

Well, it arrived today in a new slab from NGC.
They tested it and now is indicated on slab that it is copper :smiley-cool05:
Not sure how many of them exist but pretty neat
