I've added this to my German Taler collection. It is a City View of Augstburg dated 1627. It now sits next to my 1641 Austburg City View Taler.

Hey Don, good to see you back with us! You know I love those city views, nice one.
Added-- Love that eagle, too. Quick question, what is the date range of German talers? I was just curious how long the series ran.

Talers during the Holy Roman Empire were minted if my memery serves me right,... the first large Taler sized coin that was minted in numbers was in 1486. But the true Taler was from the 16th to the mid 19th century (before 1857). During the late 16th and 17th centuries, large sized Tales of 2, 3, 4, 5, and up to 8 Taler coins were minted. Some of these large sized Talers were 100mm in sizes, and some weighted in at a pound or more. Very few ever circulated, so they can be found in high grades. (note: I believe there was also a 10Taler) I could go on with a lot more, but it would take some time. It should also be noted, that the Talers size and weight was not standardized until the mid 1800's.
p.s. : its good to be back. The cancer was hell, but it looks as though the Doctors have done a great job removing it.

I'm so glad to hear that it's behind you now and you're doing well.
Thanks for the info on talers, I thought that the series was a pretty long run, but didn't know how long. Very interesting. I really enjoy a lot of the designs. Thanks for posting your collection for us.

Hey 'regandon'. It's good to see you back, and in fine style. Love what you brought to the table. As 'FilthyBroke said, the view of the different cities is always a nice touch for these coins especially the level of detail that goes into them. Thanks for sharing, and I hope to see more in the future.
